Designers Help Clients Cut Running Costs

Graphic design agency limegreentangerine is helping clients to cut the hassle and cost of website management.

The Penarth-based design company use a system that enables clients to update their own sites easily, adding or amending information without having to ask their design agency to make changes.

Partner Beverley Jenkins said: “We reviewed the website of Theatr Brycheiniog, and developed a design and management strategy in line with their needs. We gave the site a colourful and stylish look and designed a navigation system that’s very simple for visitors to use.

“We recommended a content management website, so that the Theatr staff could maintain the website in-house - regularly adding information about performances and events. We used a system called Topaz by Logicsoftware for the back end of the site.”

The Theatr Brycheiniog website is widely used by people in Brecon and the surrounding area to keep up to date with what’s going on at the Theatr.

“Andrew Rees Jones, director of limegreentangerine, added: “There are several advantages for clients using this kind of content management system. It is fast and convenient. Although the marketing department staff can’t alter the design of the site themselves, they can make their own content changes quickly and easily without needing any detailed knowledge of website design or software. There is no need to refer back to your web designers every time you want to change the information on a page.

“Secondly, but most importantly, being able to maintain the website in-house reduces costs all round.”
He said that the content management system isn’t right for everyone and that the company is happy to provide a full maintenance service.
