Imagination at play

Background

Nicola and Lisa wanted to create a true companion for young children, a key into the world of imaginative play, a friend that wants to be part of the adventure. Named after the dolls they had as children Bonnie and Pearl make dolls, lovingly designed and crafted to last.

Stocked in Harrods, Celtic Manor Resort and various across London stores, the dolls are made to a high standard so the toys can be enjoyed and loved as a life long friend.

Whilst Bonnie & Pearl's online store looked great there were major floors in it's architecture causing a convoluted user journey and poor seo which was ultimately affecting sale conversions. Plus, it wasn’t optimised for mobile which accounted for 50% of visitors.

Deliverables

We started by revisiting the site structure to ensure there was a smooth, logical flow through the website. Then, we redesigned the website, simplifying the aesthetics and allowing the product to take pride of place. The previous online store only allowed them to update products so we were keen to create a new website that was editable across the board allowing staff the flexibiltity and scope to update the website with little or no involvement from us.

With an ecommerce project like this, where clients require ever more control over their websites with additional sections such as blogs, events and galleries we utilise both a CMS and an ecommerce system under the same domain. This ‘duplex’ CMS and ecommerce approach provides the ultimate flexibility and ‘best of both worlds’. The ecommerce providing the powerful customer and product management backend and a separate CMS providing full access to edit the remainder of the website including homepage promotions and blog articles.

Limegreentangerine created a new ecommerce platform and front end brochure site, to sell the dolls, accessories and matching children’s clothing.
