New website for Cyfarthfa Foundation

We’ve been working with the Cyfarthfa Foundation, an organisation championing the transformation of the historically significant Cyfarthfa Castle and parklands.
Merthyr Tydfil is a town that has written itself into the history of Wales and the world – a place of pioneering technological, industrial, political, social and environmental change. Its history is so rich that it deserves a modern re-telling in all its variety. Its themes and stories speak to the present and hold lessons for the future. A history that can inspire a community’s re-invention.
At its heart are the dramatic relics of furnaces built a quarter of a millennium ago. Together with Cyfarthfa Castle and its 160-acre park – the latter an unsung jewel in its crown – built for the ironmaster William Crawshay II in 1825, itself a crucial stage of the Industrial Revolution. In 2025 it celebrates its bicentenary.
We worked with the Leadership team and Board of the Cyfarthfa Foundation to create a refreshed strategic and visual brand and website for the Foundation that presents a vision of modernity and energy. The branding reflects the charity’s ambition to realise a 20-year vision; championing a transformation to a Castle and a community.
Gemma Durham, Director of Brand & Communication at The Cyfarthfa Foundation, said, “The work that Limegreentangerine has done on our branding really reflects our vision, representing both the foundations of heritage and the past with a modern interpretation. The colours and styles chosen combine reflections of environment and creativity, themes that underline The Cyfarthfa Plan, bringing to life our visual identity.”
