New work for the Gower Brewery team, refreshing their brand and range of beers.

Brewed in the heart of the Gower Peninsula in Swansea, Gower Brewery was an idea hatched by three friends, two of whom are publicans, towards the end of 2011. By the following Spring, they had invested in brewery equipment and approached Limegreentangerine to help them position, brand, and package their product.

Since then their growth has been staggering. A MBO followed and recently noted in both The Telegraph and Waitrose Good Food guides, just in the last 12 months they have sold over 700,000 pints across five countries and are on course to achieve a £million revenue in the next two years.

The Brewery has claimed numerous awards and accolades including Startup of the Year at the 2012 National Countryside Alliance Awards, and scooped the prestigious Beer Mat of the Year award by the British Beermat Collectors’ Society (we’re proud of that one). Lighthouse Lager was published in the 2013 book Boutique Beer: 500 of the World’s Finest Craft Brews by Ben McFarland (available on Amazon).

A decade on, and having been through various internal design tweaks and changes, the new Brewery team came back to Limegreentangerine to help them align their brand strategy and labels to modernise, refresh and recentre the range.

We started by redrawing the logo, working with the team to create a core, premium and craft range built around their brand platform, Naturally Beautiful Ales.

Managing Director Chris Mabbett said: "The reaction to the design has been excellent. Exactly what we were looking for. One of Wales’s largest breweries and even the First Minister have commented how much they like the packaging – the reaction from customers has been universal; everyone has remarked on the established feel and striking shelf presence the labels possess – they jump out of the fridge! Our brand and packaging are instantly recognisable, and the growing sales figures back this up."
