On Saturday 12 May, two of our more senior team Adam (Head of Development) and Andy (Creative Director) are planning to don the lycra and join the other brave (some say insane) 2,500 riders as they set off from the centre of Cardiff. Their hope being to arrive at Tenby the same day, ideally in one piece.
Our client, EffectiveHRM are one of this years main jersey sponsors and very kindly invited LGT to join their elite team of finely tuned amateur athletes.
Like many, this will be the first time they have cycled this distance, so training for the event has been imperative. But this has been hampered by accidents and injuries over the last few months with Andy breaking a collarbone (in a cycling accident) ten weeks ago and Adam recently being diagnosed with a bruised kidney from a football injury.
Despite all this, our hardended athletes are not perturbed. The lycra is washed, the tyres pumped and the carbon glistening as they make final preparations this week. We just hope the weather is good to them on the day as this can make a huge difference to both safety and the effort required.
The Carten100 cycle ride started back in 2004 with four riders but it has grown year on year. In 2017, a whopping 2,500 riders participated. This event is a ‘not for profit’ fund raising venture, run by volunteers so the chosen charities benefit as much as possible.
EffectiveHRM's chosen charities are Tenovus and Velindre – both very worthy cancer charities. If you would like to sponsor Adam, Andy and Team EffectiveHRM please visit the link below:
We would be hugely grateful for your support!
