A massive congratulations to our friends at Porter's. The independent Cardiff bar has been voted amongst the best places to drink in the UK at the 2013 Observer Food Monthly Awards. A terrific achievement in under 12 months.

It only feels like yesterday that visionaries Dan and Dave came into our design studio with a fanciful idea of an alternative kind of bar they wanted to open... and behold, they've actually pulled it off!

If you haven't yet had a chance to get down to Porter’s, you really should give it a whirl when you're in the neighbourhood. It’s one of those venues that’s hard to put your finger on what gives it its charm. The best way to describe the atmosphere is like a warm, fuzzy Christmas feeling, all year round; in a bar full of friends and interesting music (regular Aubrey Parsons will literally blow your socks off), comedy and a variety of other tid bits on their tiny stage.

Found just off the beaten track, Porter’s bar houses a mini cinema that can regularly be found playing silver screen classics or looney tunes throwbacks. Kick back with a pint and some popcorn, play a spot of mini golf in the courtyard (bringing Barry Island to the city centre) or sink into a Chesterfield with a german beer. It's all there, it’s all unique. See all the Observer Food Monthly runners and riders. Visit www.porterscardiff.com to find out more about Cardiff's most eclectic bar.

Update… and again in 2014!
