Traveline Cymru scoops marketing award

Traveline Cymru, Wales’ public transport information service has scooped a prestigious award at this year’s Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Awards held on Friday at the Wales Millennium Centre.

The award, which was presented by former First Minister, Rhodri Morgan was awarded for the company re-branding and website development project. The project developed the brand identity by Limegreentangerine and website into elements which are modern, identifiable, customer focussed and user friendly.

The judges explained that it was awarded based on the entry’s ‘use of commercial marketing techniques and the appeal and consistency of the redesigned publicity materials and media’. Deputy First Minister and Minister for Economy & Transport, Ieuan Wyn Jones said of the achievement: “Traveline Cymru has proved to be a real boon for travellers across Wales since its launch ten years ago and I was especially proud to hear of their tremendous achievement.”

The Ambassador for Traveline Cymru, Iolo Williams attended the event and said: “I’m really pleased that Traveline Cymru has been recognised for the hard work done to develop their brand and website into something that serves the travelling public in Wales so well. It’s really something the team should be proud of and I’m thrilled I could join them at the event and celebrate their success.”

Marketing Manager, Jo Foxall who managed the project said: “We are delighted to receive this award. It’s testament to the hard work put in by the team at Traveline Cymru and our design agency Limegreentangerine during the last 18 months. The new brand identity and website are just two of the exciting things happening at Traveline Cymru and there is much more to come!”

This project has also been shortlisted for a Canmol:Wales Marketing Award.
