branding for an educational trust in cheltenham

Introduction

Launching in January 2024, Little Way Catholic Educational Trust (LWCET) is a multi-academy Trust in Gloucestershire, England. It involves the collaboration of an initial six schools, growing to 14 or more over the next 5 years. The schools are very diverse, with children aged 4-18 coming from a mix of both cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

The Little Way name derives from St Therese of Lisieux who became a Saint because of the little acts she did for others. St Therese was sometimes called the ‘Little Flower’ and imitating her is called the ‘Little Way’. Our work focused on creating a visual identity and guidelines that celebrate the joy of learning and strength of the collective, rooted in LWCET’s foundations.

Making the icon

The icon is formed of six petals, noting each of the founding schools. It takes the common shapes from their crests to form a new whole… a ‘Little Flower‘.

Reflecting trust and story, it balances being friendly, corporate and recognisable, while its simplicity makes it easily replicable by the children entrusted to LWCET in their schools.

Our work focused on creating a visual identity and guidelines that celebrate the joy of learning and strength of the collective, rooted in this new Gloucestershire Trust’s foundations.

I’ve heard nothing but positivity about our new brand identity. I cannot quite get over how you’ve managed to turn our brief into something so smart and useable, so quickly. I cannot tell you how grateful we are to you – I only wish some of the other processes of setting up our Trust were so simple and effective!
